About this treatment

Marionette lines are long vertical lines that commonly develop on each side of the chin as a result of the ageing process and other lifestyle factors. They get their name from marionette string puppets, which are known for having split jaws so puppeteers can open and close their mouths to make them look like they are talking. Marionette lines are caused by a combination of collagen breakdown and loss of elastin that leads to the loosening of skin in the cheeks and lower part of the face. Dermal filler can be injected below the corners of the mouth to lift the smile and fill out minor creases. They replace the lost volume in your face by hydrating and treating deep wrinkles and folds, improving your skin’s health and youthfulness for a natural look. Dermal fillers can be used to combat the effects of ageing as well as contouring and enhancing facial features. The Dermal Filler used at Haus of Brow is Lumifil which is made from hyaluronic acid -a natural substance found in the body. Hyaluronic acid has excellent viscoelasticity, and has a high moisture retention capacity. When hyaluronic acid is injected into the skin it inflates and and cushions the skin to support, define and create facial contour, whilst volumising and restoring facial elasticity. It also restores and holds water to the surface of the skin to retain moisture. Should last around 6-12 months on average. Product contains Lidocaine which acts as a numbing agent to reduce pain throughout treatment.
