MARIONETTE LINES
Marionette lines are long vertical lines that commonly develop on each side of the chin as a result of the ageing process and other lifestyle factors. They get their name from marionette string puppets, which are known for having split jaws so puppeteers can open and close their mouths to make them look like they are talking.

Marionette lines are caused by a combination of collagen breakdown and loss of elastin that leads to the loosening of skin in the cheeks and lower part of the face. Dermal filler can be injected below the corners of the mouth to lift the smile and fill out minor creases. They replace the lost volume in your face by hydrating and treating deep wrinkles and folds, improving your skin’s health and youthfulness for a natural look.
In some cases Anti-wrinkle injections area also required to this area which in combination with the filler can relax the muscle that is pulling down the corners of the mouth creating the marionette lines. The most effective marionette results are often from this combination and can be administered during the same appointment for an additional cost of £80. (advanced botox prices)
Topical anaesthetic is applied for 20 minutes prior to treatment to help with any minor discomfort.
There is no downtime and clients can return to work straight after treatment. As with all dermal filler treatments, gradually building up volume in the areas of concern is key and may require more than one treatment to achieve the desired results.
